Why purchase a Sealy Divan, Mattress or Headboard?
For more than 125 years, Sealy has been synonymous with sleep - the kind of deep, re-energising sleep that you wake from refreshed and ready for the day. Below, you will see detailed explanations of the advanced bed technology Sealy employs to ensure your perfect rest. Each bed and mattress employs different aspects of Sealy technology.
Sealy's Coolmax
A highly permeable knitted, stretch fabric for mattresses
Coolmax has excellent heat regulating properties, which takes moisture and excess heat away from the body, creating cool, dry and comfortable sleep every night.
Sealy's Tencel
Tencel is a ground breaking new fibre with natural cooling properties and outstanding moisture management. It also inhibits bacterial growth and is as soft as silk.
Sealy Edge Guard
A high density foam strip placed inside the edge of the mattress springs, prevents the mattress from sagging and gives both longer life to the mattress and a firmer sleeping area.
Sealy Edge-2-Edge
The outer springs in the mattress are fastened to a steel rod running all around the perimeter of the mattress. This means the whole of the surface of the mattress can be used as a sleeping area with less risk of rolling off.
Sealy Foam Encapsulation
A foam casing enveloping the mattress springs, giving a luxurious feel to the whole sleeping area without any loss of support.
Sealy Hand-Tufted
The traditional method of mattress upholstery, where the fillings are secured by hand with tufts from the top of the mattress to the bottom.
Sealy Memory Foam
A visco-elastic product, where the material moulds to the contours of the body, helping to relieve key pressure points. The product is available in different degrees for firmer and softer sleeping surfaces.
Sealy Micro-Tuft
A method of upholstery achieved using a modern quilting machine to give the appearance of a hand -tufted mattress. This gives less indentation to the surface than is the case with a hand tufted mattress.
Sealy Micro-Quilt
A more contemporary method of securing the mattress fillings, where the top comfort layers are quilted together providing a smoother looking sleeping surface.
Sealy Non-Turn
A mattress that, for added convenience and easier care, doesn't need to be turned over and merely requires rotating from end to end.
Sealy Outlast
Unique climate regulation technology, originally developed for NASA, used to regulate temperature and improve comfort. Outlast works by absorbing excess heat, storing it and releasing it to the body when needed, resulting in a constant microclimate where one sweats less and is less chilled.
Sealy Pillow Top
As the name implies, a deep layer of upholstery on top of the mattress creating an additional 'pillow style' layer.
Sealy PostureTech Spring System/Triple Offset Spring System
Sealy's unique mattress spring systems. The 'offset' coil design enables the springs to follow the line of the sleeper's body due to their unique independent hinging action.
Sealy Torsion 3000
The name of the unique Sealy spring system used in most Posturepedic bed bases. Sealy's sprung bases are 50% firmer than the average sprung base, improving support and extending mattress life by 25% or more. This year the base has been improved even further with a firm and more robust frame that compliments the mattress and gives a smoother sleeping surface to the very edge.
